SOAFEE’s November Newsletter
7 Nov 2025
October marked major progress for SOAFEE and its growing community of innovators. From new Blueprints and advancing edge AI cybersecurity to upcoming global events in Shanghai and Japan, members are demonstrating how open standards and cloud-native tools are redefining the future of mobility. Here’s a look at the breakthroughs, partnerships, and milestones shaping the software-defined vehicle ecosystem.
Blueprint Highlights
VicOne’s new SOAFEE Blueprint shows how AI can protect vehicles directly at the edge, leveraging Meta Llama and Arm Kleidi for maximum performance. The xCarbon Edge AI system brings cybersecurity into the vehicle itself, detecting and responding to threats in real time. Built on SOAFEE's cloud-native tools, it streamlines updates, cuts cloud costs by up to 60%, and improves protection.
Embedded Computing Design x SOAFEE
We’re launching a new recurring feature with Embedded Computing Design, showcasing SOAFEE news, tech, and member insights.
The first article by Ken Briodagh, featuring Robert Day (MSC Chair) and John Penn (TSC Chair), explores what SOAFEE is and how Blueprints help turn concepts into working standards for software-defined vehicles. Future features will dive into new Blueprints, partner projects, and community roundtables.
Join us in Shanghai | November 11-12
The SOAFEE Shanghai Seminar brings together developers, engineers, and industry leaders to explore how standardized software is transforming mobility. Join us at MGM Shanghai West Bund to connect with the community shaping the future of software-defined vehicles.
Autoware Foundation at EdgeTech+ in Japan | November 19-21
Join us at the Autoware Foundation Booth (DT-12) to see how SOAFEE’s open standards and cloud-native tools are driving intelligent, software-defined mobility at Japan’s premier event for embedded and edge innovation.
New Member: SkyGrid
We’re excited to welcome SkyGrid to the SOAFEE Special Interest Group. Their mission is to turn the 95% of the time vehicles sit idle into a secure, distributed AI data center. This enables the safe use of vehicle-based, high-performance compute, helping OEMs get more from existing silicon in smarter, more sustainable ways.
Get involved
Join our MSC and TSC calls to contribute to ongoing workstreams, and connect with members on the [SOAFEE Slack Channel] for updates, collaboration, and discussion.
We also host SOAFEE APAC Hub calls, designed for members across the Asia-Pacific region to connect and collaborate at a time that works for their time zone.
